Dr. Nadia Rutayisire joined TSO in February 2023. She received her Optometry Doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2009 and her Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Nadia moved to Texas in 2019 and hasn’t missed a Northern winter since. She loves Austin, especially the nice weather year-round and the ability to run outdoors even in the middle of January or February.
Dr. Nadia is fluent in both French and Spanish. Her areas of interest include diabetic eye care, disease prevention and specialty contact lens fits. She enjoys seeing a variety of patients, especially low-income and marginalized patients. Her office has access to the newest technological advances, which in turns allows her to practice at the highest level and diagnose and treat problems before they get worse. Working at TSO has been an extremely fulfilling experience because she gets to use both her optometry and public health degrees by providing care to the low-income community of Austin.
When not working, she enjoys outdoors activities, exercising as well as reading.
